Torrence powered Old Westbury to a perfect 3-0 week in Skyline play, totaling 38 kills on .352 hitting to go along with seven blocks. The sophomore averaged 3.80 kills per set, highlighted by a 16-kill performance on .464 hitting against Purchase. He added 14 kills in a sweep of Yeshiva and was a consistent force across all three conference victories.

Libero of the Week

Kevin Alacron, Old Westbury
Sophomore, Libero; Bethpage, N.Y./Bethpage

Alarcon anchored the Panthers’ back line in a 3-0 conference week, compiling 40 digs (4.00 per set) across wins over Purchase, Mount Saint Vincent, and Yeshiva. The sophomore posted double-digit digs in each match, including a 20-dig performance against Yeshiva.

Rookie of the Week

Jose Dominguez, Mount St. Vincent
Freshman, Outside; Teaneck, N.J./Teaneck

Dominguez delivered a standout week for the Dolphins, finishing with 43 kills, 15 digs, seven service aces, and four blocks across three matches. The freshman averaged 3.91 kills per set and recorded double-digit kills in all three contests, including 16 in a win over Sarah Lawrence.

Honorable Mention
Jack Cahill, Sarah Lawrence - Averaged 15.5 kills, 9.5 digs, and 3.5 aces per match in a 1-1 week for the Gryphons. The first-year outside hitter totaled 31 kills while continuing to lead the Skyline in kills and rank among the nation’s leaders in kills per set
Mateusz Karpow, Yeshiva - Recorded a conference-high 64 kills (4.57 per set) across four Skyline matches, adding 18 digs and 14 blocks. The junior posted double-digit kills in all four contests, including a high of 18 against Sarah Lawrence
Kyle Simmons, Manhattanville - Returned to action in dominant fashion, totaling 29 kills, 21 digs, eight blocks, and two aces in a 2-0 week. The sophomore registered a season-high 17 kills against Purchase and followed with a 12-kill, 15-dig double-double in a sweep of St. Joseph’s Brooklyn.
