Gandarillas powered Manhattanville’s offense across a two-match week, totaling 19 kills on a .233 hitting percentage, while adding six service aces, five digs, and an assist. The junior outside hitter was dominant in the Valiants’ first win of the season against Pratt, posting 10 kills, six aces, and four digs in the sweep. He followed with nine kills at Lasell, averaging 3.17 kills and 4.17 points per set on the week

Libero of the Week

Matthew Diamond, Manhattanville
Senior, Libero; Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg

Diamond anchored the back row for Manhattanville across two matches, totaling 12 digs and an assist while averaging 3.00 digs per set. The senior libero recorded six digs and an assist in limited action during the Valiants’ first win of the season over Pratt, then added six more digs at Lasell to close out the week.

Rookie of the Week

Raeden Nieves, Mount St. Vincent
Freshman, Outside Hitter; Orlando, Fla.

Nieves compiled 33 kills, 11 digs, three service aces, and a block over three matches. The freshman recorded double-digit kills in two contests, highlighted by a 15-kill effort against Brooklyn, and added strong defensive work in the back row.

Jack Cahil, Sarah Lawrence - Totaled 27 kills at a .327 clip, adding nine digs, six aces, and 33 points in the Bears’ home-opening victory
Luca Peterson, Manhattanville - Directed the Valiant offense with 32 assists over two matches, adding two kills and a dig, including a 20-assist outing at Lasell
