NEW YORK | An undefeated conference campaign has loomed large in the latest edition of the Skyline Conference all-conference team in men’s volleyball.
The Skyline’s 10 head coaches cast their votes for 2025, naming Luke MacPherson of top-seeded St. Joseph’s-Long Island as the Player of the Year. The Golden Eagles will host the league semifinal Thursday night after going a perfect 18-0.
Joining MacPherson (below) in postseason honors is Bill Kropp, who repeats as Coach of the Year in his ninth season, winning it outright after sharing the award a spring ago with New Jersey City University’s Carlo Edra. Four Golden Eagles are also featured between the All-Skyline first and second teams, including MacPherson – arguably the league’s best all-around player. MacPherson, a junior outside hitter, is among the top 10 in nearly every statistical category, finishing sixth in total points.

“It’s hard to imagine Luke doing more than he already has, but if required, Luke could easily be targeted significantly more in the SJU offense inflating his already impressive numbers. but his selflessness wouldn't allow that and that is what sets him apart,” Kropp (below) explained of his standout. “Luke is the best player on the best team in the Skyline Conference and that is something that no other player in the Skyline can claim. Being the POY isn’t necessarily about the player with the gaudiest numbers but the player who does the most for their team and it is easy to see why Luke is the Player of the Year.”
New Jersey City University freshman outside hitter Matt Peralta follows in the footsteps of teammate Marcus Pardasie as the Rookie of the Year in back-to-back seasons, while Manhattanville newcomer Evan Rapp wins the first-ever Libero of the Year award for the fellow playoff-bound Valiants.
Peralta (below) was sensational for the second-seeded Gothic Knights in his first season. He finished second on the team with 202 kills, good for 2.97 kills per set and 21 matches in the regular season. He finished third on the team with 129 digs and seventh with 18 total blocks. Peralta put up these incredible numbers despite sitting out for nearly a month with an injury. Since fully returning from injury, the Gothic Knights have dropped just one set and have gone 6-0.
Rapp (below), a freshman, is third in assists per set (0.32) for the Valiants and first on the team in digs per set (2.42) as No. 4 Manhattanville will host a postseason matchup for the first time in its short program history.
The all-conference first team is highlighted by MacPherson, Rapp, Peralta and a sterling cast, including Sarah Lawrence’ Nate Davis, Purchase’s Channing Williams and Ramapo’s Reece Kirchofer and JoJo Meyer. Alex Casais and Pardasie join Peralta as the NJCU trio completes the first team.
The second team consists of Tyler Anderson, Hank Foglia and Will Kropp from St. Joseph’s-LI; Jeremias Martinez of St. Joseph's-Brooklyn; Jose Lorenzo Santos of Old Westbury; Kyle Simmons of Manhattanville; and Jan Tracz and Brady Cascone from Ramapo.
The head coaches also announced their respective recipients for the All-Sportsmanship Team (below). The conference recognizes All-Sportsmanship Team members in all 19 of its championship sports, with each program announcing one recipient for his or her sportsmanlike demeanor – both in and out of competition.
