Bernard (above) helped the Gryphons earn their third victory of the season, pacing the field in the 50 Freestyle while also anchoring both SLC relay teams to earn the team two additional wins. 

Diver of the Week 

Brendan Griffiths, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy                                                   
Senior; Easton, Pa./Easton Area    

Griffiths (above) hit his first NCAA qualifying mark of the season in the one-meter dive in the Mariners' home dual-meet victory over Stevens ... He had a score of 288.30 and now needs to hit an NCAA cut one more time this season to officially qualify for the NCAA Diving Regionals ... The senior also recorded a score of 260.40 in the three-meter dive. 

Rookie of the Week 

John Frank, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy                                                        
Freshman; Highland, Md./Homeschooled 

Frank (below) won all three events he took part in in the Mariners' home dual-meet victory over Stevens ... Kicking the day off by closing out the 200 Medley Relay that touched first in 1:36.21, and the winning both the 50 Freestyle in 22.60 and the 100 Free in 49.43. 

Honor Roll 

U.S. Merchant Marine Academy sophomore Caden Latchaw won the 100 Breaststroke in a season-best time of 57.84 in the Mariners' home dual-meet victory over Stevens: he also was the second leg of the 200 Medley Relay that touched in 1:37.38 to start the meet ... Sarah Lawrence freshman Jonas Ellwanger paced the field in the 100 Freestyle, finishing second in the 100 Breaststroke and swimming the third leg of both of SLC's first-place relay efforts.
