Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

Luke Zwiesler, Merchant Marine
Senior; Colbert, Wash. / Mount Spokane 


Zwiesler led the Mariners at the Ramapo Invitational, securing a first-place finish in the 5,000-meter run. He clocked a personal-best time of 15:29.60, finishing at the top of a competitive field.

Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week

Adonias Mercado, Farmingdale State
Junior; Hillsdale, N.J. / Pascack Valley 


Mercado dominated the throwing events at the CGA Invitational, recording top finishes in both the shot put and discus. He posted a mark of 15.04m (49' 4.25") in the shot put and a heave of 45.90m (150' 7") in the discus. His performance currently ranks him at the top of the Skyline Conference in both disciplines.

Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Rookie of the Week

Mackay Minter, Merchant Marine
Freshman; Shaker Heights, Ohio / Shaker Heights


Minter made a strong outdoor debut, competing in the 100m and 200m dashes. He recorded a time of 11.24 in the 100m and followed up with a 22.85 in the 200m, placing in the top 10 for both events. He also served as the lead-off leg for the Mariners' 4x100m relay team.

Honorable Mention

Christian Destine, Farmingdale State - Placed second in the triple jump with a leap of 13.50m (44' 3.5") and added a top-five finish in the long jump
Ben Rini, Merchant Marine - Recorded a fourth-place finish in the shot put (13.38m) and a ninth-place finish in the discus (37.34m) at the CGA Invitational
Davian Rodriguez, Farmingdale State - Competed in the 110m hurdles, clocking a season-best 15.95 to finish third overall at the Ramapo Invitational
