Vidal exploded for four goals in the Dolphins’ lone match of the week, a 5-3 Skyline victory over Maritime. The sophomore forward accounted for all but one of CMSV’s tallies, including two first-half strikes that set the tone in the win.

Defensive Player of the Week

Ethan Howell - USMMA
Junior, Keeper; Alexandria, Va./Hayfield Secondary

Howell backstopped the Mariners to a pair of Skyline victories, posting a 0.50 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage across 180 minutes of action. The junior goalkeeper registered a season-high six saves to secure his first clean sheet of the year in a 3-0 win over St. Joseph’s-Long Island, before adding four stops in a 4-1 triumph over Purchase.


Rookie of the Week

Cam Welsh, Mt. St. Mary
Freshman, Midfield; Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Roy C. Ketcham

Welsh made the most of his minutes for the Knights, scoring game-winning goals in each of the team’s victories last week. The freshman forward tallied the deciding strike in a 2-1 non-conference win over John Jay before netting the match-winner in a 2-1 Skyline triumph at Old Westbury, giving him two goals in just 81 minutes of action.

Drew Boukidis, USMMA – Tallied two goals and an assist in USMMA’s 3-0 Skyline win over St. Joseph’s Long Island, striking just 30 seconds into the match for the game-winner and later adding an assist
Sam Bevevino, Mount Saint Mary – Anchored the Knights’ defense in a 2-1 win over Old Westbury and added a key goal and last-minute clearance to preserve a 2-1 victory against John Jay earlier in the week
Jackson Justice, USMMA – Logged all 180 minutes on the Mariners’ backline during wins over St. Joseph’s Long Island and Purchase, helping USMMA to a combined 7-1 scoring margin across the two matches
