Farmingdale State Delivers Three-Peat in Men's Tennis

 Senior Vansh Aggarwal was named Most Outstanding Player for the second-straight season for his clinching win at No. 3 singles, as he propelled second-seeded Farmingdale State College to its third-consecutive Skyline Conference Men's Tennis Championship on Friday with a 4-2 victory at top-seeded U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

FSC (16-3) has now earned the Skyline's automatic bid to next week's 2025 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championship, which gets underway next week. The 44 teams in the tournament will learn their pairings and competition sites on NCAA.com on Monday.

The Rams were up on the host Mariners (9-4) by a 3-2 score, setting the stage for Aggarwal (below receiving the MOP from Skyline Associate Commissioner Bobby Ciafardini), who rallied from one set down to Patrick Novotny to capture the title-clinching match, 4-6, 6-3 and 6-4.

Farmingdale State was up 1-0 after doubles play, courtesy of victories in the top-two flights. The senior tandem of Alan Sabovic and Ryan Hendel bested Connor McQuade and RJ Novak by a 6-1 decision, before Aggarwal teamed up with freshman Zakaria Ahmed to card a 6-4 victory over the Mariners' Brent Matthews and Josh Staroselskiy.

Ahmed put the Rams up 2-1 with his 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles against Novak, before sophomore Kwaku Agyeman earned a 6-4, 6-4 decision over McQuade for FSC's third point of the afternoon.
