No. 1 USMMA Finals Bound in Men's Tennis

KINGS POINT, N.Y. I No. 1 USMMA picked up where it left off in the regular-season finale, earning a win over Purchase. 

This time, the victory advances the Mariners to the 2025 Skyline Conference Men's Tennis Championship final. 

USMMA downed No. 4 Purchase by starting strong and winning two of the three doubles matches to secure the first point. 

USMMA then sealed the match with wins at No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 singles. Purchase won at No. 1 and No. 2 singles. 

Patrick Novotny, Fredrich Buquel and Connor McQuade collected those wins, respectively, for USMMA. 

Novotny notched a 6-2, 6-1 triumph at No. 3 singles and freshman Buquel earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 4 singles to help lead the Mariners. The duo also paired up to secure a 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles.

McQuade dded a 6-4, 6-0 victory at No. 5 singles, while sophomores Josh Staroselskiy and Brent Mathews were victorious by a 6-4 score at No. 2 doubles.
 
Staroselskiy also held a 6-2 lead at No. 6 singles when the Mariners clinched the match.

No. 1 USMMA will now take on No. 2 Farmingdale State Friday. Match time is 2 p.m. at Brooks Stadium Courts at USMMA.
