Rende powered the Rams to a 2-0 Skyline week, orchestrating the attack with 8.8 assists, 1.7 kills, and 0.8 aces per set while hitting an impressive .588. The senior setter turned in a dominant performance against Old Westbury, going a perfect 7-for-7 on attacks while dishing out 34 assists and landing four service aces. 

Libero of the Week

Sarah Montefusco, St. Joseph’s - Long Island
Senior, Libero; Patchogue, N.Y./Longwood

Montefusco was a defensive force for the Golden Eagles, totaling 52 digs (6.5 per set) over three matches as SJLI went 2-1, including a pair of Skyline wins. The senior libero led the team with 15 digs, two assists, and two aces against Farmingdale before recording a season-high 37 digs and nine assists in a five-set win over Mount Saint Mary.

Rookie of the Week

Alana Henry, Farmingdale
Freshman, Middle; Amityville, N.Y./Amityville

Henry made her presence felt in the middle, averaging 3.0 points and 2.8 kills per set while hitting .205 on the week. The freshman tallied eight kills against St. Joseph’s-Long Island before posting nine kills on .462 hitting with two block assists in a sweep of Old Westbury.

Sydney Douglas, Merchant Marine - Averaged 4.3 kills per set on .389 hitting, highlighted by a career-high 16 kills in a sweep of Mount Saint Mary
Delaney Keegan, Farmingdale State - Averaged 4.0 digs per set with a .976 reception percentage, including 15 digs and five aces across two Skyline matches
Grace Devaney,  Maritime - Set an NCAA single-match record with 14 service aces in a single match against Medgar Evers, adding nine kills and five digs in the sweep
