Kerchner (above), a standout newcomer a year ago, came in 10th place, earning a medal, in her first action of 2023 … She performed well at the Adelphi Panthers XC Invite, crossing the finish line of the 5K with a time of 20:07.5 to pickup where she left off for the Mariners en route to her first weekly award of the fall.

Making her collegiate debut, Briceno (above) paced the Valiants in the season opener, placing 62nd in the 5K run at Stockton with a time of 25:40.07.

Honor Roll

Farmingdale State freshman Kaitlin Slattery debuted at the Adelphi Panthers Invitational (Bethpage State Park), finishing in a team-best 5K time of 27:09.6 … Mount Saint Mary sophomore Sarah Kannenberg led the Knights with a finish of 13:37.1 at the Vassar Invitational … St. Joseph’s-Long Island junior Gianna Dickson was the Golden Eagles’ top performer at the Adelphi Invitational, placing 22nd overall with a 5K time of 20:49.1, besting her time from last's season race by nearly two minutes.
