WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY WEEKLY AWARDS - OCTOBER 13

Runner of the Week

Sophomore; Islip, N.Y./Islip


Kurka led the Golden Eagles to an 8th-place team finish, securing a personal best time of 20:52.9 to capture 10th place (Individually) at the NJIT Invitational.

Rookie of the Week
 
Amelia Vitale, Farmingdale
Freshman; Hauppauge, N.Y./Hauppauge


Vitale placed 13th at Saturday's NJIT XC Invitational at Branch Brook Park in Newark, N.J., completing the 5,000-meter course in a time of 21:00.1 to help the Rams to a fifth-place finish.

Honorable Mention

Perry Yun, Sarah Lawrence – Yun continued her strong campaign for the Gryphons, taking the victory in Tuesday's dual meet with Purchase College. The senior finished the course 90 seconds before the rest of the field, pacing all 16 Skyline runners
Jennifer Sarji, St. Joseph’s-Brooklyn– Paced the Bears in the 5K race with a personal-best time of 23:02.8 at the NJIT Highlander Invitational, finishing among the top four Skyline Conference runners in the field.
