Yeshiva's Hava, Leiser Garner Top Skyline Conference Women's Tennis Awards

Yeshiva's Shani Hava (L) and Tzipora Leiser teamed up for a 4-2 record in doubles action this fall.
NEW YORK -- Yeshiva University sophomore Shani Hava has been named the 2015 Skyline Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Year, in voting conducted by the conference's eight head coaches.

Hava's Maccabees teammate, Tzipora Leiser, was tabbed as Rookie of the Year, while Farmingdale State College mentor Adam Waterhouse, fresh off leading the Rams to their third-consecutive conference championship, was selected as Coach of the Year.

Hava, the 2014 Skyline Conference Women's Tennis Rookie of the Year, swept through singles play at the No. 1 flight this fall with an unblemished mark in seven total matches (5-0 in Skyline play). She also registered a 5-2 mark at No. 1 doubles, including a 4-2 ledger when teaming with Leiser.

Leiser combiled a 5-5 mark (5-2 Skyline) in singles action, which includes a 4-4 mark at the No. 2 flight. She was victorious in seven-of-10 doubles matches, including a 6-1 slate in conference play.

Waterhouse, in his ninth season at the helm of the Rams' men's and women's tennis programs, picks up his second Skyline women's tennis coach-of-the-year citation (2012), and sixth overall (four in men's play: 2009, '11-13). He led Farmingdale State to its third-consecutive Skyline Conference Women's Tennis Championship, with a 5-1 victory versus St. Joseph's College-Long Island (Oct. 24), and his side will now represent the Conference at the 2016 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship.

Joining Hava on the all-conference first-team are: Autumn Atkinson of Sarah Lawrence College; Victoria Makulik of St. Joseph's-Long Island; Tatiana Rosamilia and Priscilla Signore (the Most Outstanding Player of last week's championships) of Farmingdale State; and Breanna Scott of Mount Saint Mary College.

Leiser was tabbed second-team all-conference, along with: Michelle Fredericks and Denise Liguori of Farmingdale State; Kelley McGrath and Vicky Panicola of St. Joseph's-Long Island; and Juliet Slade of Sarah Lawrence.
