Player of the Week

Jeremias Martinez, St. Joseph’s Brooklyn
Sophomore, Right-Side; Elmhurst, N.Y./Newtown

Martinez powered the Bears offensively during a 2–1 week, totaling 41 kills, 18 digs, and four service aces while hitting .303 across three matches. The sophomore right-side averaged 4.56 kills per set, highlighted by a 23-kill, five-dig, three-ace performance in St. Joseph’s Brooklyn’s sweep of Old Westbury. Martinez also contributed 18 combined kills and 13 digs in matches against St. Joseph’s Long Island and Manhattanville.

Libero of the Week

Joey Toscano, Purchase
Sophomore, Libero; Levittown, N.Y./Division Ave.

Toscano helped guide Purchase to a 3–0 week in Skyline play, finishing with 22 digs and just one receiving error across the three matches. The sophomore libero also contributed offensively with eight kills and two service aces, including a standout performance in the Panthers’ sweep of Manhattanville where he recorded 13 digs. Toscano averaged 3.25 digs per set during the unbeaten stretch.

Rookie of the Week

Danny Kanner, Purchase
Freshman, Setter; Smithtown N.Y./ Smithtown

Kanner directed the Purchase offense during a 3–0 conference week, totaling 81 assists, 19 digs, nine kills, and six service aces. The freshman setter averaged 9.0 assists per set, including a 33-assist performance in a three-set victory over Manhattanville. Kanner also contributed defensively and at the service line, helping power the Panthers to a trio of Skyline wins.
