Martinez delivered a dominant two-match performance for the Bears, averaging a double-double with 16.5 kills and 13 digs per match. The sophomore right side totaled 33 kills, 26 digs, and six service aces across the week. He erupted for 23 kills and 15 digs in a four-set win at Yeshiva before adding 10 kills, 11 digs, and three blocks against Purchase. Martinez averaged 4.13 kills per set while leading SJBK to a 1-1 week.

Libero of the Week

Kevin Alarcon, Old Westbury
Sophomore, Libero; Levittown, N.Y./Division Ave.

Alarcon anchored the Panthers’ defense with a standout 20-dig performance in a three-set sweep of Sarah Lawrence. The libero averaged 6.67 digs per set in the victory, consistently stabilizing serve-receive and limiting extended rallies to help Old Westbury secure the conference win.

Rookie of the Week

Trevor Kolar, Manhattanville
Freshman, Outside Hitter; South Huntington, N.Y./ Walt Whitman

Kolar put together the best week of his young career, powering the Valiants to a 2-0 record with 33 kills, 11 digs, six blocks, and nine service aces. The freshman outside hitter posted a season-high 19 kills while hitting .419 in a win over Sarah Lawrence, then added 14 kills and six aces in a five-set victory at Mount Saint Vincent. Kolar averaged 3.67 kills per set and hit .318 on the week.

Joe Gandarillas, Manhattanville - Totaled 23 kills and 14 digs in a 2-0 week, adding three aces and two blocks while contributing in conference victories over Sarah Lawrence and Mount Saint Vincent
Danny Kanner, Purchase - Recorded 36 assists, 18 digs, and six service aces in a four-set win over St. Joseph’s Brooklyn, posting match-high totals in assists, digs, and aces
Trey DeMeo, St. Joseph’s-Brooklyn - Averaged 12 kills and 7.5 digs per match, highlighted by a season-best 16-kill effort against Purchase to go along with three digs and a solo block
