Offensive Player of the Week

Eva Garcia, Maritime
Sophomore, Forward; Rockville Centre, N.Y./Kellenberg


Garcia opened the season with a hat trick to lead the Privateers to a 4-2 victory over Brooklyn on Friday. The sophomore responded just 13 seconds after Brooklyn’s opening goal in the 16th minute to tie the match, then struck again in the 60th with a brilliant run down the left side. Garcia completed the hat trick—and secured the game-winner—in the 73rd minute when her shot ricocheted off the post and in.

Defensive Player of the Week

Hailey Stork, Farmingdale
Senior, Keeper; Bellmore, N.Y./Mepham


The 2024 Skyline Championship Most Outstanding Player picked up right where she left off, recording the Skyline’s only shutout of opening weekend in a 3-0 win at two-time Collegiate Conference of the South champion Maryville (Tenn.) on Friday. Stork made five saves in the clean sheet, then followed with an eight-save performance on Sunday against 2024 NCAA Tournament participant Sewanee (Tenn.).

Rookie of the Week

Paulina Fonfara, Farmingdale
Freshman, Forward/Midfield; Glen Cove, N.Y./Glen Cove


Fonfara made a statement in her collegiate debut, scoring twice—including the game-winner in the 17th minute—to lead her team to a 3-0 win over 2024 NCAA participant Maryville (Tenn.) on Friday afternoon.

Honorable Mention

Maritime’s freshman forward, Lacey Baric, finished with three points in the Privateers' 4-2 win over Brooklyn on Friday; she set up Garcia to assist on the game-winning tally, while adding a goal of her own in the 81st minute, corralling a loose ball and putting it home from 15 yards out.… Sophomore keeper Eva Fields recorded 21 saves over the Mariners' first two games, including an impressive 17 on Friday night against #3 Christopher Newport
