NEW YORK | One year after meeting in an unforgettable Skyline Conference Championship match, Mount Saint Vincent and St. Joseph's-Long Island once again headline the conference landscape heading into the 2026 season. The Dolphins earned the top spot in the Skyline Conference Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll with 108 points and three first-place votes, narrowly edging the defending champion Golden Eagles, who received 106 points and four first-place votes.
Mount Saint Vincent enjoyed a remarkable 2025 campaign, finishing atop the Skyline standings with a 9-1-1 conference record before advancing to the conference championship match. The Dolphins reached the title game after rallying past Mount Saint Mary in the semifinals and concluded the season with a 13-5-2 overall record.
St. Joseph's-Long Island, the reigning Skyline champion, enters the new season after capturing the program's second conference title with a dramatic 2-1 double-overtime victory over the Dolphins in the 2025 championship match. Senior defender Erica Urbancik was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player, while Savannah Modica scored the golden goal in the 108th minute to send the Golden Eagles to the NCAA Division III Championship.
Farmingdale State was selected third with 101 points and three first-place votes after another strong season that saw the Rams earn the No. 4 seed in the Skyline Championship Tournament. United States Merchant Marine Academy placed fourth with 88 points, while Sarah Lawrence received one first-place vote and rounded out the top five with 87 points.
Mount Saint Mary, which advanced to the 2025 Skyline semifinals, collected 80 points and one first-place vote to place sixth. Manhattanville University followed with 64 points, while Old Westbury (48 points), Maritime (40 points), and Purchase (40 points) completed the next tier of the poll. St. Joseph's-Brooklyn (20 points) and Yeshiva (10 points) rounded out the preseason rankings.
The 2026 Skyline Conference Women's Soccer Championship is scheduled to begin November 1.
