FSC Women's Tennis Headed to Amherst for NCAA Championship

Will Play Colby-Sawyer in First Round

INDIANAPOLIS | The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced the 49-team field for its 2025 Division III Women's Tennis Championship, and Farmingdale State College will travel to Amherst College in Massachusetts to take on Colby-Sawyer College in first round action on Friday (May 9) at 2 p.m.

The winner of Friday's first round match will take on No. 3-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in the second round on Saturday at 2 p.m. On the other side of the bracket, Amherst earned a first round bye and will host with winner of Vassar versus Hunter. The regional winner will be determined in a match on Sunday at noon.

NCAA BRACKET

The Rams (14-5) clinched their spot in the NCAA Championship with their 4-2 Skyline Conference Championship win over top-seeded Manhattanville in the fall. Junior Amanda Jones was the tournament's Most Outstanding Player, after clinching a 7-5 win in the third set of No. 3 singles. FSC played a pair of matches this spring in preparation for the NCAA Championship, defeating Division II Molloy, 4-3, as well as Hunter, 7-0.

Colby-Sawyer earned their spot in the tournament after winning the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) in the fall. They defeated the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.), 5-0, in the Championship match. The Chargers enter NCAA play with a record of 10-6.
