Women’s Lacrosse All-Conference Team Announced

NEW YORK | Two anchors from the two most accomplished teams head the all-conference selections as the postseason begins.

The Skyline Conference's nine head women's lacrosse coaches cast their ballots for the 2025 all-conference team, naming Maritime’s Gabrielle Nicolosi the Offensive Player of the Year and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy’s Leslie Wysong the Defensive Player of the Year.

Nicolosi (below) lifted the Privateers to a 6-2 league mark and a first-round bye in the conference championship behind 114 regular-season points on 55 goals and 59 assists.  She leads the Skyline in Points Per Game (7.60) and Assists Per Game (3.93) and is currently fourth in the NCAA in PPG and sixth in APG. The two-time Skyline Offensive Player of the Week recipient is now a four-time all-conference selection after being named to the first team in 2025.

Wysong (below) and the Mariners ran away with the rest of the major awards following a perfect 8-0 conference mark. Wysong, a three-time Skyline Defensive Player of the Week and a previous all-conference selection herself, ranks fifth in the Skyline in caused turnovers and draw controls and seventh in assists, 10th in points and 12th in goals. She is USMMA’s top midfielder.

In addition to Wysong, USMMA’s Reese Ripley has been named Rookie of the Year, while the program’s bench boss, Kyle Simensky, takes home the Coach of the Year accolade in voting conducted by his peers.

Ripley (below) is a three-time Skyline weekly honoree, garnering two Rookie of the Week nods and one Honor Roll mention. She ranks third in the Skyline in draw controls and 11th in both caused turnovers and ground balls. The standout newcomer added extra punch to the Mariners in 2025 as USMMA will now host a semifinal matchup Thursday in the conference championship.

Kyle Simensky (below) is in his 13th year at the helm of USMMA and is the first women's lacrosse head coach in the history of Kings Point. This is his fourth Skyline Coach of the Year selection. Since 2018, Simensky's teams have a combined record of 85-20 with four NCAA DIII tournament appearances.

Simensky is also a decorated NCAA Division III athlete, competing for the men’s lacrosse team at Cortland State. His teams made three consecutive appearances in the national championship game from 2006-08 and won a DIII National Championship in 2006.

Simensky and the Red Dragons captured three SUNYAC Conference Championships and Simensky was named a SUNYAC All-Conference performer his senior season when he finished the season with 54 points on 40 goals and 14 assists. He graduated from SUNY Cortland in Spring 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in physical education and earned a master’s degree in health education from Adelphi University in 2014.

Simensky’s Mariners totaled the most First Team selections with five. Farmingdale State followed with four of the top 15. The two teams are outlined below.

The head coaches also announced their respective recipients for the All-Sportsmanship Team (below). The conference recognizes All-Sportsmanship Team members in all 19 of its championship sports, with each program announcing one recipient for his or her sportsmanlike demeanor – both in and out of competition.
