Top Seeds Advance to Skyline Women’s Lacrosse Semifinals Following First-Round Victories

NEW YORK | The top two seeds moved on in the 2026 Skyline Conference Women’s Lacrosse Championship on Saturday, as No. 4 St. Joseph's University, Long Island and No. 3 Mount Saint Mary College each earned home victories in first-round action to punch their tickets to the semifinal round.

No. 5 Manhattanville at No. 4 St. Joseph's (L.I.)
St. Joseph’s (L.I.) opened postseason play with a 17-12 win over No. 5 Manhattanville University in Patchogue. 

The Golden Eagles used an explosive second quarter, outscoring the Valiants 8-2, to build a 12-5 halftime lead and never looked back. Taylor Metzler led the offense with seven goals and one assist, while Emily Grace Passaro totaled seven points on one goal and six assists. Kaitlyn Ippolito added four goals as St. Joseph’s controlled the draw circle, 19-12. 

Kathleen O’Mara scored four times for Manhattanville, while Pietra Cabral added three goals and an assist.

No. 6 Mount Saint Vincent at No. 3 Mount Saint Mary
In Newburgh, Mount Saint Mary pulled away for a 9-4 victory over No. 6 University of Mount Saint Vincent. After a 3-2 halftime edge, the Knights seized control with a 3-1 third quarter and added three more goals in the fourth. 

Shannon McGowan paced Mount Saint Mary with five goals, while Delisianna Naccarato posted two goals and three assists. Kasey Senior contributed two goals, one assist, five draw controls and three caused turnovers. 

AB Burnett scored twice for the Dolphins, while goalkeeper Makenna Reekie made 10 saves.

The Golden Eagles advance to face top-seeded U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (7:00 PM) as the Knight will travel to face second-seeded Farmingdale St. (6:00 PM) in Wednesday’s semifinal match ups.
