KINGS POINT, N.Y. | In a tightly contested championship matchup between the Skyline’s top two seeds, Farmingdale State used a strong second and third quarter surge to defeat Merchant Marine, 10-8, and claim the 2026 Skyline Conference Women’s Lacrosse title on Saturday at Brooks Stadium.
Merchant Marine struck first with goals from Reese Ripley and Grace Picozzi to take a 2-0 lead in the opening quarter, but Farmingdale answered late as Livingston set up Krystal Sulin before adding a goal of her own to spark the comeback.
The Rams seized control in the second quarter, outscoring Merchant Marine 4-2 to take a 5-4 halftime lead. Livingston factored into three of the four goals during the run, assisting on scores by Sulin and Jordyn Neu while also finding the back of the net herself.
Farmingdale continued its surge in the third, scoring three straight goals to build an 8-5 advantage. Kailee Coppola, Emily Sohm, and Sulin each tallied during the stretch, while the Rams’ defense held Merchant Marine to just one goal in the period.
In the fourth, Coppola extended the lead to 9-5 before Merchant Marine mounted a late push behind goals from Lana Hayes and Sarah Litz. Livingston responded with her third goal of the game to restore a three-goal cushion, and Farmingdale held on down the stretch to secure the title.
Livingston led all players with eight points on three goals and five assists, while Sulin added two goals and an assist and Coppola finished with two goals and one helper. In goal, Giavanna Stamatelo recorded 18 saves to anchor the Rams’ defense and was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player.
Merchant Marine was paced by Isabelle Perry and Lana Hayes with two goals apiece, while Leslie Wysong totaled four points (1G, 3A).
With the win, Farmingdale State captures the Skyline Conference championship and earns the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Women’s Lacrosse Championship.
