In two games, Powell (above) averaged 14.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game for the now 7-3 Rams (3-0 in Skyline play) … Against Union, he registered a game and season-high 20 points, to go along with four rebounds, one assist and one steal … At New Jersey City University, Powell had eight points, six rebounds and an assist … This is his first Player of the Week honor this season.  

Rookie of the Week

Justin Turner, St. Joseph’s-Long Island
Freshman, Guard; Manorville, N.Y./Eastport-South Manor

Turner (below) totaled 20 points on 6-for-11 shooting (54.5%) from the field in the Golden Eagles' lone game of the week ... The guard added six rebounds with a team-high seven assists ... He was 5 of 10 from 3-point range and a perfect 3 of 3 at the free-throw line. 
 
Honor Roll

St. Joseph’s-LI junior guard Xavier Allen posted a game-high 26-points, including five 3s and completed the double-double with 10 rebounds in the Golden Eagles’ lone game of the week against Lehman … Mount Saint Mary junior forward Elijah Barnett sparked the Knights to their second straight win with his first double-double of the season (15 pts., 10 rebs.) in a 68-60 triumph over Rutgers-Newark … Farmingdale State freshman forward John Macai was a perfect 5 of 5 from the field for 12 points, to go along with four rebounds against Union before capping the week with a career-best 10 points at NJCU.
