Offensive Player of the Week

For the second time this season, Castaneda takes home Skyline Offensive Player of the Week honors … On the week, she fired off four goals – including a hat trick against Maritime – and dished out a trio of assists in a 1-1 week for the Bears … She currently leads the league in shots, shots on goal and goals this fall.

Senior, Defender; Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Connetquot
 
Schenk (above) played 180 minutes across the Rams' two draws (1 GA, 0.50 team GAA, and 1 SHO on the week), helping FSC stay atop the Skyline standings from her outside back position ... She sent in the dangerous corner kick early on in the 1-1 tie against Sarah Lawrence to set up FSC's goal in the contest – just the third goal the Gryphons have conceded in conference play on the campaign … This is her first conference weekly award of the season.

Rookie of the Week

Viktoria Balbin, Sarah Lawrence
Freshman, Forward; Northridge, Calif./Sierra Canyon

Balbin (below) collects her second Rookie of the Week this season … She opened the scoring for the Gryphons against Merchant Marine, finding the back of the net unassisted … The freshman continued to pressure the USMMA defense, sending four of her six shots towards the goal and finished the week with nine shots, five of which were on goal … With Balbin anchoring, SLC defeated the Mariners and also tied Farmingdale State on the week to remain in the hunt for the top seed in the postseason.
 
Honor Roll

USMMA senior midfielder Cassidy Jester had seven points in the Mariners' 6-0 home win over Purchase, recording her first-career hat trick with three-straight in the first half while also assisting on the first goal of the game … Mount Saint Mary junior forward Victoria Maffettone led the Mount to an unbeaten week against league rivals (Old Westbury and St. Joseph’s-Long Island), scoring one goal in each contest … St.  Joseph’s-Brooklyn midfielder/forward Katherine Barrios registered six points in SJ-BK's 1-1 week, scoring goals against SJ-LI and Maritime while also totaling a pair of assists … Manhattanville freshman keeper Macey Girard made 22 saves in net across a pair of games for the Valiants.
