NEW YORK | The 10 Skyline Conference women's soccer coaches have cast their votes on the 2018 edition of their preseason poll, and defending champion Farmingdale State College tops the ledger.
Head coach Chris Roche's Rams (76 voting points), who won the 2017 championship final with a 1-0 decision over Mount Saint Mary College (2nd in poll; 74 pts.), received four of the 10 first-place votes. The Knights acquired six first-place nods in the voting.
Rounding out the top-five are College of Mount Saint Vincent (61), St. Joseph's College-Long Island (53) and Purchase College, SUNY (51).
The six-team 2018 Skyline Conference Women's Soccer Championship gets underway with first-round action on Saturday, Oct. 27, while the top-two seeds receive byes to the Oct. 31 semifinal round. The championship final is slated to take place on Nov. 3, with the winner acquiring the Skyline's automatic bid to the 2018 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship.
