NEW YORK | Seven Skyline Conference women’s basketball student-athletes were recognized among the metropolitan area’s top performers as the 2025-26 All-Met Division III Women’s Basketball Teams were announced by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association. Carolae Barton and Emily Grasseler of U.S. Merchant Marine Academy were named to the First Team, Esther Ramos of Manhattanville earned Second Team honors, Brianna Guglielmo of Mount Saint Mary was selected to the Third Team, while Madelyne Barone of St. Joseph’s-Long Island, Hannah Ramsden of Merchant Marine, and Mercedes Perez of St. Joseph’s-Brooklyn received Honorable Mention recognition.
Barton, the Skyline Player of the Year, turned in a dominant sophomore campaign for the conference champion Mariners, averaging 19.0 points and 11.6 rebounds per game while shooting .632 from the field and totaling 66 blocks on the season. She was joined on the first team by teammate Grasseler, who averaged 17.0 points and 10.2 rebounds per game and recorded 19 double-doubles, helping lead Merchant Marine to another Skyline title and NCAA Championship appearance.
Merchant Marine senior guard Ramsden also earned honorable mention recognition after averaging 14.6 points per game, while leading the team in three-point shooting at 36.1 percent and assists at 3.2 per game. The Mariners placed three student-athletes on the All-Met squads after finishing the season 23-5 overall and 18-2 in Skyline play.
Ramos collected second-team honors following another standout season at Manhattanville. The senior forward averaged 15.2 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, led the Valiants in both categories, and shot 49.3 percent from the field. She reached double figures in all but four games and posted seven 20-point performances, including a career-high 32 points in the Skyline semifinals.
Guglielmo was named to the third team after producing the best all-around season of her career for Mount Saint Mary. The senior captain led the Knights in points, rebounds, steals, and minutes played, while ranking among the Skyline leaders in scoring, steals, and field-goal percentage. Her season was highlighted by a career-high 34-point performance in an overtime victory over Merchant Marine.
Barone earned Honorable Mention recognition after a strong sophomore season at St. Joseph’s-Long Island. A first-team All-Skyline selection, she finished among the conference leaders with 13.8 points per game, while averaging 7.2 rebounds per contest and ranking among the Skyline’s top shot blockers. Perez, a second-team All-Skyline pick from St. Joseph’s-Brooklyn, was one of the conference’s top scorers at 17.8 points per game and led the league with 3.4 three-pointers made per game.
The All-Met teams will be recognized at the 93rd annual MBWA Haggerty Awards dinner on April 23 in Tarrytown, New York.
