NEW YORK | The 2026 Skyline Conference Women’s Basketball Championship final is set as No. 2 Merchant Marine (22-4) and No.1 Manhattanville (21-5) advanced with semifinal victories on Friday evening.
No. 2 Merchant Marine 62, No. 3 Mount Saint Mary 54
At Kings Point, Merchant Marine used a strong interior presence and rebounding advantage to defeat Mount Saint Mary, 62-54.
Carolae Barton led the Mariners with 24 points on 11-of-21 shooting and grabbed 15 rebounds, adding six blocks and three steals. Breanna Sommers added 18 points on 8-of-13 shooting, while Emily Grasseler contributed 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Merchant Marine finished with a 49-39 rebounding edge and scored 32 points in the paint. The Mariners shot 43.8 percent from the field and forced 15 turnovers.
Mount Saint Mary was led by Margaret Trinkaus, who recorded 16 points and 11 rebounds. Angelina Donato added 11 points and seven rebounds, and Keira Frias contributed 11 points off the bench. The Knights shot 28.4 percent from the field and were limited to 12 points in the paint.
No. 1 Manhattanville 81, No. 4 Farmingdale State 58
At Kennedy Gymnasium, Manhattanville built a 49-30 halftime lead and extended the margin with a 23-11 third quarter to secure the 81-58 victory.
Esther Ramos scored 32 points on 12-of-18 shooting, including 4-of-6 from three-point range. Kathleen O’Mara added 15 points and nine rebounds, while Gabby Tucker and Sara Cashin each scored 12. Angelina Donato dished out 10 assists in the win.
The Valiants shot 44.4 percent from the field, connected on seven three-pointers, and forced 25 Farmingdale turnovers, converting those into 25 points.
Farmingdale State was led by Shyann Parker with 20 points and eight rebounds. Mia Simmons added 10 points, and Samyah Allen finished with nine rebounds and five assists.
Merchant Marine enters the final at 22-4, while Manhattanville improves to 21-5. The top seeds faced each other twice in the regular season with each team claiming a victory. The Valiants will host the Mariners in the Kennedy Gymnasium for the title on Sunday, March 1. Tipoff is set for 1:00 pm.
