NEW YORK | The Skyline Conference has announced a new conference-wide partnership with Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society, recognizing student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically.
Through the partnership, Skyline Conference member institutions will have the opportunity to establish or further enhance Chi Alpha Sigma chapters on their campuses, providing additional opportunities to celebrate the academic success of Skyline student-athletes.
“Recognizing academic excellence is a cornerstone of the Skyline Conference mission, and this partnership with Chi Alpha Sigma strengthens our ability to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our student-athletes,” said Skyline Conference Commissioner Melissa Reilly. “Our institutions consistently demonstrate that success in the classroom and in competition go hand in hand, and this collaboration allows us to further highlight and support those accomplishments across the conference.”
Founded in 1996, Chi Alpha Sigma is the first and only nonprofit honor society established specifically to recognize four-year collegiate student-athletes who excel in both athletics and academics. The organization now includes hundreds of chapters across the United States and continues to grow through partnerships with conferences and institutions at all levels of collegiate athletics.
Under the partnership, Skyline student-athletes who meet the academic and participation requirements will be eligible for induction into Chi Alpha Sigma through their institution’s chapter. To qualify, student-athletes must participate in a varsity intercollegiate sport, achieve junior academic standing after completing at least four full-time semesters, and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
Inducted student-athletes also gain access to additional recognition opportunities, including national awards, postgraduate scholarships, and professional development initiatives offered through Chi Alpha Sigma.
The partnership further enhances the Skyline Conference’s ongoing commitment to academic success, leadership development, and the overall student-athlete experience.
