NEW YORK – The Skyline Conference today announced its 2025-26 Men’s Basketball All-Conference Team and major award winners, highlighted by a historic season from Yeshiva University senior guard Zevi Samet, who was selected as the Skyline Player of the Year.
Samet led the Skyline in scoring with 568 total points, averaging 22.7 points per game overall, 22.4 in conference play. He shot .485 from the field, .406 from three-point range, 79 made threes, and .885 from the free-throw line, while helping lead Yeshiva to a perfect 16-0 Skyline record.
The Defensive Player of the Year honor went to Sarah Lawrence senior center Chris Dougherty, who led the conference in blocks and blocks per game and totaled 232 rebounds, 9.28 per game overall. In Skyline play, he averaged 10.44 rebounds per game, anchoring the paint defensively while ranking among the league leaders in offensive and defensive boards.
U.S. Merchant Marine Academy freshman Jack Flannery earned Rookie of the Year honors after totaling 396 points and averaging 15.84 points per game overall,14.94 in conference. He shot .420 from the field, .356 from three, and .764 from the free-throw line, recording multiple 20-point performances and emerging as one of the conference’s top first-year contributors.
Yeshiva head coach Elliot Steinmetz was named Coach of the Year after guiding the Maccabees to a dominant regular season, including a perfect 16-0 Skyline record and securing home-court advantage throughout the Skyline postseason.
First Team: Joining Samet on the First Team were Sean Conroy (Farmingdale State), Michael Notias (Farmingdale State), Jake Devaney (Maritime), Zion Williams (Maritime), and Kenny Rodriguez (St. Joseph’s-Long Island).
Second Team: The Second Team features AJ Esposito (St. Joseph’s-Long Island), Eamon Kelly (Sarah Lawrence), Andrew Kim (Sarah Lawrence), Yoav Oselka (Yeshiva), and Eric Woodberry (Mount Saint Vincent),
The head coaches also announced their respective recipients for the All-Sportsmanship Team. The conference recognizes All-Sportsmanship Team members in all 19 of its championship sports, with each program announcing one recipient for his or her sportsmanlike demeanor – both in and out of competition.
