Kovac excelled for the Gryphons last week, earning three singles victories and two doubles wins. The senior opened with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 triumph over John Jay before adding a 6-4, 6-0 win against Yeshiva in conference play. She capped the week with a gritty comeback against Brooklyn, rallying for a 4-6, 7-5, 6-1 decision. In doubles action, Kovac secured decisive victories of 6-0 and 6-2 across her three matches.
Rookie of the Week
Martine McGowan, Farmingdale

McGowan earned her second Rookie of the Week honor, going 2-0 in singles play and 1-1 in doubles action during a two-match week for the Rams. She teamed with Gabriella Loria for a 6-0 sweep at No. 2 doubles before cruising to a 6-0, 6-0 victory in her No. 2 singles match at Western Connecticut on Wednesday. McGowan capped the week with a 6-3, 6-2 win in top-flight singles on Saturday against Hunter at the USTA National Tennis Center.

Katelin Smith, Purchase – Went 2-0 at No. 2 doubles last week, posting a 6-0 win over John Jay and a 6-4 victory against Bard. Added a 6-1, 6-0 triumph at No. 3 singles versus John Jay before dropping a hard-fought three-set match against Bard
