FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State men's lacrosse team saw its season come to an end on Wednesday afternoon as the Rams fell to Trinity (Conn.) College, 13-6, in the first round of the 2025 NCAA Division III Championship. FSC finishes the year with a 16-2 record against Division III opponents, while Trinity (Conn.) has advanced to Saturday's second round, where they will meet No. 10-ranked York (Penn.) College.
The Bantams (9-7) used a 6-1 first quarter to quickly take control of the game. Senior midfielder Thomas Stock set up classmate Andrew Giovinco for Farmingdale State's lone goal in the opening 15 minutes.
FSC trailed 8-1 before registering a pair of goals prior to the halftime break. Junior Kamryn Gill and senior Gerardo Maldonado each scored for the Rams as they were down 9-3 at the break.
Farmingdale State tallied the first goal of the second half with Andrew Giovinco scoring off the pass from his brother Adam Giovinco to cut the deficit to 9-4.
Trinity (Conn.) responded with three consecutive goals as they took a 12-4 lead.
The Rams final two goals came from Adam Giovinco, including one man-up, as they fell by a score of 13-6. Adam finished with two goals and two assists and ends the season with a team-high 78 points.
Sophomore long-stick midfielder Sean Lawson led Farmingdale State with three caused turnovers and a career-high eight ground balls.
Senior Antonio Kaminskey went 11-for-20 on face offs and concludes his FSC career as the all-time leader with 1,122 face off wins, .624 face off percentage and 668 ground balls.
Senior goalkeeper Dan Erler produced 11 saves in the loss and ends his career with a program-record 41 wins in net.
