Offensive Player of the Week

Ryan Hannaford - Maritime
Sophomore, Attack; Bayport, N.Y./Bayport/Blue Point


Hannaford delivered a dominant offensive performance in the Privateers’ 15-7 victory over New Paltz. The sophomore attack recorded five goals and two assists for seven total points while shooting an efficient .833 on the day. He netted the game-winner on his fourth goal of the contest to give Maritime an 8-5 lead in the third quarter and added two ground balls and a caused turnover. Hannaford has now tallied nine goals and 11 points through Maritime’s first two wins of the season.

Defensive Player of the Week

Tucker Kuhn, Merchant Marine
Sophomore, Face Off; Towson, Md./Loyola Blakefield


Kuhn controlled possession in the Mariners’ 22-7 road victory at Drew, winning 19-of-26 faceoffs (73 percent) while scooping up 11 ground balls. The sophomore’s dominance at the X helped Merchant Marine dictate tempo throughout the contest. Kuhn currently ranks second nationally in ground balls and sixth in faceoff win percentage, continuing to anchor the Mariners’ transition game.

Rookie of the Week

Thomas McCarvil, Maritime
Freshman, Attack; Port Washington, N.Y./Schreiber


McCarvil erupted for five goals in Maritime’s 15-7 win over New Paltz, including three fourth-quarter tallies that helped seal the victory. The freshman attack shot .667 in the contest and now has eight goals through his first two collegiate games after recording a hat trick in the season-opening win at Coast Guard.

Honorable Mention

Owen Behr, Merchant Marine - Totaled seven points in the Mariners’ 22-7 road win at Drew, scoring four goals and adding three assists while also contributing two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Connor Murtha, Farmingdale St. - Recorded his first career hat trick in a 9-8 victory over Division II Bridgeport, scoring three goals — including the go-ahead tallies to break a halftime tie — while adding two ground balls and a caused turnover
Sean Lawson, Farmingdale St. - Tied a career-high with five caused turnovers and scooped up seven ground balls in the Rams’ 9-8 win over Bridgeport, adding an assist in transition to cap off a strong two-way performance
