COMPLETE 64-TEAM NCAA DIVISION III SOFTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP BRACKET
NEWPORT NEWS REGIONAL BRACKET
INDIANAPOLIS | The National Collegiate Athletic Association released the 64-team field for the 2025 NCAA Division III Softball Championship on Monday morning, and Farmingdale State College will open its 10th appearance in the tournament on Thursday at 11 a.m. at third-ranked Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Va.
The Rams (29-14), champions of the Skyline Conference for the third time in the last five years and a record 10 times overall, are joined in the four-team, double-elimination regional at CNU's (35-4) Captains Park by 23rd-ranked Randolph-Macon College (31-14) and Alfred University (32-9) – who will play one another at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Regional action continues Friday with games scheduled for 11 a.m. (winners bracket), 1:30 p.m. (losers bracket) and 4 p.m. (elimination game). Saturday's regional championship game is slated for 11 a.m. (an if necessary game would start at approximately 1:30 p.m.). The winner of the regional will advance to next weekend's super regional round.
Tickets for this weekend are cash only, and are single-day tickets. Admission charges are $10 for adults, and $5 for students and senior citizens. Tickets will go on sale one hour prior to the first game of each day.
Christopher Newport and Alfred are coming off championships in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference and Empire 8 Conference, respectively, while Randolph-Macon was the runner-up in last weekend's Old Dominion Athletic Conference tournament.
Thursday will mark the second-ever meeting in NCAA play at Captains Park between Farmingdale State and Christopher Newport, as CNU defeated the Rams by a 12-4 score in the 2012 tournament. Additionally, FSC faced Randolph-Macon to start the 2022 NCAA tourney, with the Yellow Jackets winning by a 2-1 final.
