Women’s Soccer All-Conference Team Announced

NEW YORK | The top two seeds in the Women's Soccer Championship are well represented on the 2024 edition of the Skyline Conference All-Conference Team.

The 12 head women's soccer coaches cast their votes, selecting a trio of stars from second-seeded Farmingdale State. FSC's Alyse Rivera is the Offensive Player of the Year, while her teammate, Alexandra Getfield is the Defensive Player of the Year and fellow Ram Rachel McAuliff is the Rookie of the Year. Top-seeded and defending champion Mount Saint Vincent yields the Coach of the Year in Jason Weisberg along with top goal scorer Alicia Rodriguez on the First Team. Three Dolphins also received Second Team honors.

Rivera (below), a team captain and two-time first-team all-conference selection in as many seasons, makes it a third in her junior campaign as she nabs a First Team honor to go along with the Offensive Player of the Year nod. The one-time Skyline Offensive Player of the Week finished the regular season with 36 points (12g, 12a), which ranks second all-time single season in program history. Her conference marks this fall were impressive as well. Rivera is first in points and assists (four ahead of next-closest student-athlete), and tied for third in goals in the Skyline, while in conference matches only, she is first in goals, assists and points.

Rivera spearheaded the FSC offense and Getfield (below) was a catalyst defensively for the Rams. A one-time Skyline Defensive Player of the Week, the first-year central defender directed a defense that conceded just one goal in Skyline competition, and blanked nationally ranked NYU. FSC enters conference tourney play with a shutout streak against Skyline foes of 891:19.

McAuliff was a  two-time Skyline Rookie of the Week and two-time weekly Honor Roll mention. She ranked tied for second in conference in game-winning goals with four – the top freshman mark. She is also tied for fifth in points (26) and goals (11 – tied top freshman mark) in conference-only matches.

Weisberg (below) takes home the honor in his first season at the helm, leading the defending champs to the top seed in the field. The Dolphins went 11-5-1 overall, including 9-1-1 in conference play. Weisberg made his way to Riverdale after an impressive stint with Wesleyan University, where he served as the associate head coach for the Cardinals from 2021 through the program's 2023 campaign. The Cardinals were recognized as one of the top team's in the region under Weisberg's tenure, as the team advanced to the NCAA Final Four in 2021 and was ranked as high as fourth nationally in the same season, as well as earning the NESCAC Coaching Staff of the Year Award and United States Region Staff of the Year. Wesleyan also appeared in the Division-III NCAA tournament in both 2022 and 2023 after reaching the NESCAC Championship Tournament. Weisberg played collegiate soccer at Stony Brook University in 1997, where he earned a bachelor's degree in psychology. He received his Master's degree in counseling psychology from Pace University.
