Naci (above) returned to goal-scoring form in the Bears' 2-0 week, scoring the eventual match winner against Maritime, while logging his first brace of the season against Sarah Lawrence … This is his first player of the week award this fall after being named the 2022 Skyline Conference Offensive Player of the Year.
Defensive Player of the Week
Ashton Carey, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy
Senior, Keeper; Pasadena, Md./Mount Saint Joseph
Carey (above) recorded eight saves in the Mariners' three games in which they went 2-0-1 … The senior earned the victory in a 4-0 home win over Sarah Lawrence after making five stops … He followed that up with a tie in a 1-1 draw with Mount Saint Vincent on the road, where he made one save, before finishing the week with two saves in the first half of a 1-0 home win over WestConn … WestConn was 30-1-4 dating back to 2022 coming into the game … This is Carey’s second defensive player of the week nod this fall.
Rookie of the Week
Manuel Morales, Manhattanville
Freshman, Midfield; Madrid, Spain/International College Spain
Morales (below) led the Valiants offensively with a two-goal week en route to his first rookie of the week award … He scored both goals in Manhattanville's 2-1 victory over Farmingdale State, logging the first game-winner and multigoal games of his collegiate career … He played another 36 minutes in the team’s 1-1 draw at St. Joseph's-Long Island to close the week.
