NEW YORK | The Skyline Conference's seven head men's lacrosse coaches have voted on the all-conference team, and SUNY Maritime College sophomore attacker Matt DeMeo and junior defender Mark Buchner have been selected as Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, respectively.

Maritime sophomore face-off specialist Kevin Buser was tabbed as Rookie of the Year following his first season of collegiate lacrosse, while the Privateers' first-year mentor, Justin Manjares was tabbed as Coach of the Year by his peers.

DeMeo pumped home a conference-best 70 goals on the season, while his 5.29 points per game average tops the Skyline.

Buchner caused 30 turnovers from his close-defense position, helping Maritime to its first Skyline title. The Privateers have allowed just 152 goals on the season heading into their Tuesday first-round contest in NCAA play against Grove City in Salisbury, Md.

Buser won a conference-best 244 face-offs at the midfield "x," and ranked fourth in the Skyline with a .544 percentage. His 92 ground balls are a Skyline-best mark, while his 5.41 per-game average ranks third.

Manjares is in his first season as interim head coach of the Privateers, after serving as a Maritime assistant coach for five years.
