2015 Skyline Conference Women's Soccer Championship Information

St. Joseph's-Long Island captured the 2015 Skyline Conference title with a 2-1 triumph at Mount Saint Mary.
NEW YORK - Eight-time defending champion Farmingdale State is the top seed for the six-team 2015 Skyline Conference Women's Soccer Championship, which gets underway on Saturday, Oct. 31.

For the second-consecutive season, there was a tie for the regular-season title -- this time, with three teams all at 8-1 in conference play: Farmingdale State (12-5-2), Sage (14-4) and Mount Saint Mary (13-6-1); the teams earned the Nos. 1-through-3 seeds in the championship, respectively, by virtue of the conference's tie-breaking procedures.

Farmingdale State, led by Ashley Guerrero's 29 points (12 g, 5 a), and Sage (Nicole Maher, 0.80 goals-against average) both earn first-round byes and will commence play in semifinal action on Wednesday, Nov. 4.

Saturday's first-round action features No. 3 Mount Saint Mary playing host to sixth-seeded Mount Saint Vincent, while No. 5 Old Westbury travels east to Patchogue, N.Y., to fourth-seeded St. Joseph's-Long Island.

MSMC received 24 points (11 g, 2a) on the season from Melissa Guillemette, while Mount Saint Vincent's (5-11 / 4-5 Skyline) Julia McGowan fired home 10 goals of her own in regular-season action.

Old Westbury's Melissa Outsen has 11 goals and seven assists to her credit this season, while St. Joseph's-Long Island's Chelsea Bellini scored 11 goals in 2015, as well.

The highest remaining seed after the two semifinal matches will play host to the championship on Saturday, Nov. 7 (time TBA), with the conference's automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship at stake.
