Bard College captured the Skyline Conference Sportsmanship Trophy after displaying outstanding team sportsmanship during the 2009-10 academic year.  The Skyline Conference instituted the Sportsmanship Trophy in 2007-08 to gauge team sportsmanship among its member schools.

A school earns points toward the Sportsmanship Trophy based upon a 10-point scale in each sport.  Opposing coaches rate each team on a scale of 1 to 10 with a '1' being considered poor sportsmanship and a '10' being considered outstanding sportsmanship.  A score of 5 to 6 is considered average.  A school's scores in each sport are then added together and then divided by the total number of points that could possibly be earned.

Bard compiled 84.99 points out of a possible 120 (12 sports), for an overall rating of .708.  The Sage Colleges finished second with a rating of .6997 while Yeshiva University was a close third with a rating of .6995.

A Team Sportsmanship Award is presented in each sport.  Bard earned Team Sportsmanship Awards in women's soccer (7.78), men's basketball (7.40), and women's lacrosse (8.88).  All of Bard's individual sport scores during the 2009-10 year were above 6.0.

Other Team Sportsmanship Award winners came in the sports of Women's Tennis (St. Joseph's, 7.25), Golf (St. Joseph's, 7.83), Women's Cross Country (Maritime, 7.33), Men's Cross Country (Maritime, 7.67), Men's Soccer (Yeshiva, 7.25), Women's Volleyball (Sage, 7.44), Women's Swimming (St. Joseph's, 8.00), Men's Swimming (Mount Saint Mary, 8.33), Women's Basketball (Yeshiva, 6.56), Men's Volleyball (Yeshiva, 7.80), Men's Tennis (Yeshiva, 6.86), Men's Lacrosse (Mount Saint Vincent, 9.67), Softball (NYU-Poly, 7.86), and baseball (Yeshiva, 8.38).
