RIVERDALE, N.Y. – At the 18:03 mark of the first half in Mount Saint Vincent’s 78-68 win over CCNY on Monday night, senior Lauren Percodani (Staten Island, N.Y.) became the third active member of the Mount Saint Vincent women’s basketball team to score 1,000 career points. She finished the night with six points and five assists as the Dolphins won their sixth straight contest.
Percodani came into the game needing just one point for the magic number and got the Dolphins on the board in the opening two minutes with a jumper to bring the Mount to within a point at 3-2. Her bucket sparked a 13-2 run for the Dolphins that saw them jump out to a 13-5 edge five minutes into the tilt.
Percodani finished the night 3-for-5 from the floor and also ripped down three rebounds to go along with her five helpers. She now joins Karissa Koerner (Bay Shore, N.Y.) and Courtney Heesemann (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) as current Dolphins in the 1,000 point club at Mount Saint Vincent.
