Baseball All-Conference Team Announced

NEW YORK | Liam Daly powered his way to being named the Skyline Conference Player of the Year in 2025.

The conference’s 11 head baseball coaches voted on this season's all-conference team, naming the Purchase star the league’s best.

The preseason All-American (below) lived up to the expectations, leading the conference in batting average, hits and OPS, while finishing second in home runs, RBI and slugging.

Farmingdale State right-handed ace Johnny Dougherty has been tabbed as the Pitcher of the Year for the second consecutive season, while U.S. Merchant Marine Academy mentor Michael Notebaert was selected as Skyline Coach of the Year for a second time in his career in voting by his peers.

Notebaert’s sensational newcomer, Luke Kruer (below), is the Rookie of the Year.

Kruer is a three-time Rookie of the Week, who also garnered one weekly Honor Roll. He leads the top-seeded team in the postseason, which begins today. The rookie is sixth in the conference with 1.108 OPS and tops on the team and the Skyline with 50 RBI and eight home runs.

Daly, a junior, adds to his collection of honors. Some of the notable achievements of Daly's career include: 2024 All-Skyline Conference First Team; 2024 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. III Region 3 All-Region First Team; 2024 D3baseball.com's All-Region Region 3 First Team; 2023-24 Purchase College Athlete of the Year (Men's Teams); 2023 All-Skyline Conference Second Team; 2023 Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year; 2022-23 Purchase College Rookie of the Year (Men's Teams).

Dougherty (below) pitched the Rams to the third seed in the playoffs. The Skyline leader in ERA and strikeouts ranks nationally in top 25 in WHIP (19th, 0.95) and K/9 (25th, Skyline-best 12.04). He is a two-time Skyline Pitcher of the Week this spring.

A graduate of Ithaca College, Notebaert is in his 19th year with the program and his 17th as the head coach. In his 16 years at the helm for the Mariners, Notebaert has become the all-time winningest coach in the history of the program. He guided Merchant Marine to twelve (13) trips to the Landmark and Skyline Conference Tournament. Four of those playoff berths have resulted in trips to the conference finals (2009, 2018, 2021 and 2022). In 2021, Notebaert led the Mariners to their first-ever conference title and trip to the NCAA Regionals, where the team lost in the Semifinals and was just two wins shy of advancing to the Division III College World Series.

He also won Skyline Coach of the Year in 2021. Notebaert (below) was later named the D3Baseball.com New York Region Coach of the Year that season, while also previously being selected the Landmark Conference Coach of the Year twice (2009 and 2013). Notebaert completed his MBA in Leadership and Management at Dowling College in 2010.
