FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College men's lacrosse team was recognized for their exceptional dedication to community engagement at FSC's Day of Service ceremony on campus Tuesday morning. The Nexus Center Office of Community and Civic Engagement and the Carnegie Implementation Selection Committee honored the team with the 2025 FSC Student Club Community Service Award. The award is presented annually to one student organization that exemplifies outstanding service to the campus and local community.
Each academic year, the men's lacrosse program continually gives back to the community in a variety of ways. This year, the team visited, donated gifts and brought mini horses to the students at the People's Arc in Bohemia, joined forces with Long Island Metro Lacrosse Foundation for a wheelchair lacrosse game, and led a donation drive for St. Baldrick's in an effort to fight childhood cancer, just to name a few. The Rams also volunteered at Northside Elementary School's 'Trunk or Treat' Event, held a food drive for Island Harvest and collected donations for Toys for Tots.
"We take great pride in representing Farmingdale State not just on the field, but off it as well" said Head Coach Sean Chamberlain. "Our guys understand how important giving back is and I'm proud of how they always embrace that responsibility."
