Ortiz posted an undefeated week, going 4-0 across singles and doubles play. She teamed with Jenifer Lalman for a 6-0 win in No. 2 doubles against Purchase, then earned a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 3 singles to help Manhattanville match the best start in program history. Ortiz capped the week with another standout performance against Drew, collecting wins at both No. 1 doubles and No. 2 singles.

Rookie of the Week

Martine McGowan, Farmingdale
Freshman; Schenectady, N.Y./Schenectady

McGowan continued to impress in her rookie campaign, finishing 4-0 on the week to help the Rams to a perfect 2-0 record. Playing at No. 2 singles and doubles, she earned straight-set victories against both Baruch and St. Joseph’s - Long Island, including a super tiebreaker win (10-5) over Allison Goodyear.
