Currently riding a 10-game hitting streak to begin the season, Leary (above) batted .522 with 12 hits (seven for extra bases) and 14 RBI in the Bears' 4-2 week … The senior third baseman smacked a two-RBI walk-off single against CCNY before hitting for the cycle – the first in program history – and driving home eight RBI against Yeshiva to close the week.
Pitcher of the Week
Louis Lombardi, St. Joseph’s-Brooklyn
Grad Student; Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Edmund Prep
Lombardi (above) picked up his first two wins of the season, allowing two runs and striking out 20 (10 against both Framingham State and Yeshiva) in 11 innings of work … The grad student tossed a one-hitter in the Skyline opener against the Maccabees, one of only two baserunners for the visitors in the contest on his way to his first weekly honor of the spring … He also aided his cause at the plate with three hits, including a triple, over the two games he appeared.
Rookie of the Week
Brandon Stanley, Maritime
Freshman, Pitcher; Swedesboro, N.Y./Paul VI
Stanley (below) improved to 4-0 on the season with a complete-game victory against Baruch … Yielded two runs (one earned), which both came on one swing of the bat, and five hits in the 4-2 win ... He struck out four and walked one in his first collegiate complete game.

Joey Zanetti batted .409 (9 for 22) with a double, a home run, four RBI and five runs scored; he hit safely in all five games on the week, and had a pair of three-hit games becoming the 15th player to join the USMMA 100-hit club … Maritime outfielder
Matt Milone hit a pair of clutch home runs in the Privateers’ 4-0 weekend; he came up with Maritime trailing 2-0 in the fifth inning against Baruch and crushed a go-ahead three-run homer before hitting one off the scoreboard for a grand slam that gave the Privateers a 7-1 lead against Lehman to close the weekend … Farmingdale State junior third baseman

Brian Gregory picked up the win against Rutgers-Newark, working 8.0 innings, allowing one run on four hits while striking out two batters; Gregory retired the side in order in the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth innings on his way to retiring the final 16 batters that he faced … Maritime sophomore pitcher
Matthew Demme hurled a one-hit shutout against Lehman – his only hit allowed was a leadoff single in the second.
