Darling (below) batted .444 (4 for 9) with three walks and a .615 OBP for the Mariners, who opened the season with four wins … He had two steals in two attempts, scored two runs and added one RBI.

Maritime junior infielder Nick Pinggera went a combined 3 for 4 in Maritime's season-opening doubleheader with Plattsburgh, belting a three-run homer to straightaway center in the second game that proved to be the difference in a 3-1 Maritime win … Mount Saint Mary grad student shortstop Devin Tait finished the three-game series at Mary Washington hitting .444 with a 1.027 OPS for the Knights; he posted multiple hits in two of the three games in the series, adding a run scored and three RBI … U.S. Merchant Marine Academy pitcher Kole Register tossed a seven-inning complete game shutout in the season-opening victory, allowing four hits – all singles – and totaled four strikeouts … St. Joseph's-Long Island pitcher Anthony Cinquemani threw three shutout innings in his one appearance, allowing one hit while striking out two, earning his first win of the season … St. Joseph's-Long Island senior infielder Ryan Decoursey finished the week hitting .429 going 3 for 7 with two home runs in a doubleheader split with Ramapo.
