Maritime's Williams Named MBWA All-Met Player of the Week

For the second consecutive week, a Skyline Conference student-athlete has been recognized among the region's best, as Zion Williams of SUNY Maritime College has been named the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association All-Met Player of the Week.

Williams delivered a dominant two-game stretch, averaging a double-double of 28.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per game while shooting 49 percent from the field (21-of-43) and adding 11 assists and eight steals. The sophomore extended his streak to six straight 20-point performances and impacted the game on both ends of the floor.

He opened the week with 29 points, eight rebounds and seven assists against Yeshiva, then followed with his third double-double of the season in a road win at St. Joseph's Brooklyn, posting 27 points and a career-high-tying 13 rebounds with four assists.
