USMMA Wraps Season in NCAA First-Round Loss to Washington and Lee

BEREA, Ohio I The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women's basketball team saw its magical season come to an end on Friday with a 65-53 loss to #19 Washington and Lee in the NCAA Championship First Round played at Baldwin Wallace University's Ursprung Gymnasium. The Mariners close out the year with a 24-3 overall record, while the Generals improve to 25-4 and advance to the Second Round on Saturday where they will face the winner of tonight's La Roche-BWU game.

Emily Grasseler led all players in the game with 20 points, while Breanna Sommers added 14 points and Grace Jackson closed out her career with 10. Hannah Ramsden recorded a team-best nine rebounds and Carolae Barton contributed five points and seven rebounds despite being limited to just 16 minutes due to foul trouble.
