Jake Devaney, Maritime
Sophomore, Forward; Washingtonville, N.Y./NY Military Academy
Devaney delivered a dominant offensive week, averaging 26.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.0 steals across the Privateers’ matchups against Baruch and John Jay. He opened with a 28-point performance on 10-for-20 shooting versus the Bearcats and followed it up with an ultra-efficient 24 points on 9-of-11 from the floor in Saturday’s win over John Jay. The sophomore shot a blistering 61.3% from the field and 53.8% from three, while also going a perfect 7-for-7 at the free-throw line.
Rookie of the Week
Jorden Bennett, St. Joseph’s - Brooklyn
Freshman, Forward; Westhampton, N.Y./Westhampton Beach
Bennett made an immediate impact in the opening week of his collegiate career, averaging 14.0 points and 8.0 rebounds over his first three games. The freshman posted back-to-back strong outings, including 12 points and 9 rebounds against Gwynedd Mercy and a breakout 18-point, 10-rebound double-double in the Bears’ overtime win at Messiah. He added 12 points, 5 boards, and 4 blocks against Washington & Lee to close out the week.
Honorable Mention
Andrew Saint-Louis, Manhattanville - Saint-Louis continued his elite scoring form with a 34-point performance at WestConn, shooting 12-of-19 from the field and 5-of-8 from deep. He added 6 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists, accounting for nearly half of the Valiants’ offensive production
Zevi Samet, Yeshiva - Samet opened the season with two major scoring outputs against nationally recognized opponents, totaling 73 points across two contests. Samet poured in 34 points against RV Chapman and followed with 39 against No. 15 Mary Washington. He averaged 36.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.5 steals
Sean Conroy, Farmingdale State - Conroy helped the Rams to a 2–1 week, averaging 16.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2.0 steals while shooting 48.7% from the floor. Conroy earned All-Tournament Team honors at the FSC Tip-Off Tournament after scoring 18 and 19 points in consecutive games, including a standout defensive performance with 4 steals and 3 blocks in the win over Albright.
