NEW YORK | The Skyline Conference has announced its 2025 Women’s Volleyball All-Conference Teams, headlined by Manhattanville University senior outside hitter Loren Hernandez, who repeats as Skyline Player of the Year after another dominant season for the Valiants.
Hernandez, a native of Toa Baja, Puerto Rico, was one of the most consistent offensive threats in the conference and among the region’s most complete players. The senior standout led the Skyline in both kills per set and points per set, while ranking first in kills and points both in and out of conference play. Hernandez, who earned Player of the Week honors four times during the season, finished with 474 kills and 370.5 points, averaging 4.41 kills per set and 4.76 points per set overall, hitting .178 overall and .225 in conference.
Joining her among the major award winners is U.S. Merchant Marine Academy senior libero Stephanie Schatzman, who earns Libero of the Year honors following a standout campaign anchoring the Mariners’ defense. The Virginia Beach, Va. native ranked second in the Skyline in digs per set (4.83 overall / 4.70 conference) while recording 618 digs on the year. A 2024 All-Skyline Second Team selection, Schatzman was named Skyline Libero of the Week twice this season and helped lead the Mariners’ back row as one of the top defensive units in the league.
Manhattanville freshman outside hitter Caylin Caballero was voted Rookie of the Year after making an immediate impact for the Valiants. The Eastvale, California product finished second in hitting percentage (.238 overall / .346 in conference), third in kills per set (3.19 overall / 3.64 in conference), and fourth in points per set (3.51 overall / 4.14 in conference). Caballero tallied 384 kills and 284.5 total points on the year, earning Skyline Rookie of the Week honors once (Sept. 8) and three honorable mentions throughout the campaign.
Rounding out the major awards is U.S. Merchant Marine Academy head coach Tony Nocera, who earns Coach of the Year honors in his third season at the helm. Nocera guided the Mariners to another successful season under his tenure, returning as the No. 2 seed to the Skyline Championship Tournament.
