Kerchner (above) was the first Division III runner to cross the finish line at the Queensboro Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park ... She placed third overall in the the 5K race in 21:32.3, behind only runners from a DI Juco and NCAA DII. 

Rookie of the Week 

Ella Beesley, Sarah Lawerence                                                                                              
Sophomore; Guilford, Conn./Guilford

Beesley (above) scored 22 points for the Gryphons in the team's meet at Van Cortlandt Park ... The sophomore was the second finisher from SLC and the fifth Skyline runner to cross the line ... Beesley finished the course in under 25 and a half minutes and was a key cog of SLC's third-place finish.   

Honor Roll

St. Joseph's-Long Island freshman Elizabeth Kurka finished first for the Golden Eagles at the Queensborough Cross Country Invitational, clocking in at 23:32.2; she placed 14th overall and was the leading freshman from the Skyline ... Sarah Lawerence sophomore Ali Xhafa led all Gryphon runners and earned 19 points for the team, finishing the 5K course in just over 25 minutes; she was the fourth-best Skyline runner on the day, leading the Gryphons to a third-place finish in a meet with 17 teams, including four Skyline opponents.
