Manhattanville Edges Defending Champs in Preseason Poll

NEW YORK | The Skyline Conference women's volleyball head coaches have cast their ballots in the 2022 preseason coaches poll, and Manhattanville has been selected as the conference favorite entering the fall campaign.

The Valiants, which entered last fall’s postseason seeded second to eventual champion U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, edges the reigning champs in the preseason poll. USMMA is No. 2 in the rankings. Manhattanville lost to USMMA and 2021 Most Outstanding Player Paige Smith in the final, but welcomes back stars Alejandra Figueroa and Vianca Vital in their pursuit of a return to the championship. The Mariners also return Smith and a strong unit for 2022. Both teams went 10-1 in conference play last season.
