2015 Skyline Conference Women's Volleyball All-Conference Teams Announced

Mount Saint Vincent's Ashleigh Scozzari leads the Skyline Conference in kills and points per set, and is tied for the blocks per set lead.
NEW YORK - The Skyline Conference's 11 head women's volleyball coaches voted on their 2015 year-end awards recently, and College of Mount Saint Vincent senior middle hitter, Ashleigh Scozzari has been selected as the conference's Player of the Year.

Farmingdale State freshman outside hitter, Annie Cosgrave, and Mount Saint Vincent head coach, Carlos Aponte, were selected as the conference's Rookie and Coach of the Year, respectively.

Scozzari was also named the 2015 Skyline Conference Women's Volleyball Championship's Most Outstanding Player after leading the Dolphins to their first-ever title following a four-set triumph in the title match against Mount Saint Mary (Nov. 7). Her 4.76 kills and 5.30 points per set top the Skyline, while her 0.83 blocks per set are tied for the top mark. Scozzari's .345 hitting percentage also ranks second among Skyline Conference student-athletes.

Cosgrave put down 2.40 kills per set in her rookie campaign, while adding 2.81 points per set; both marks are good for the No. 8 spot among the Skyline Conference leaders.

Aponte, a 2007 graduate of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez, is in his first season as head coach of the Mount Saint Vincent program. All he has done in his short time in Riverdale is lead the Dolphins to a 17-13 mark, as well as a 12-match winning streak entering the team's first appearance in the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship.

Both Scozzari and Cosgrave were voted to the all-conference first-team, and are joined on the eight-member squad by: Barbara Wright of Farmingdale State; Jennifer Gries of Mount Saint Mary; Rachel Liebig and Siena Wilder of Sage; Lauren GaNun of St. Joseph's-Brooklyn; and Heather Ferchland of St. Joseph's-Long Island.

The all-conference second-team is comprised of: Francesca Calderon of Farmingdale State; Carly Lombardo of Maritime; Kayla Kurka of Mount Saint Mary; Nicole Henderson of Mount Saint Vincent; CJ Kelley of Sarah Lawrence; and Courtney Bocchieri and Courtney Wickline of St. Joseph's-Long Island.
