After guiding their respective teams to their first Skyline Conference cross country titles, Farmingdale State College head coach Arnie Minkoff and Bard College head coach Fred Pavlich were voted Skyline Conference Coaches of the Year in men's and women's cross country respectively.
Minkoff's men's cross country team at Farmingdale State has been gradually moving up the conference ladder the last three years. The Rams finished fifth in 2007 and third in 2008 before capturing the conference title for the first time this fall. Farmingdale State placed three runners in the top four.
Pavlich's women's cross country team at Bard also captured its first Skyline title. The Raptors did so in dominating fashion, placing four runners in the top five. Bard also produced the men's individual champion in senior Aaron Ahlstrom, who earned his third straight Skyline individual title and fourth conference championship overall.
SUNY Maritime College, led by head coach Jim Driscoll, received the Team Sportsmanship Awards in both men's and women's cross country after displaying outstanding team sportsmanship througout the fall cross country season.
